Ceramic Brake Pads

G'day, did a PP search and a "Google" PP search and did not come up with a lot on this subject. As ceramic pads seem to be becoming a bit more available thought I would ask if anyone has has any experience with them. Couple of mates have them on different vehicles and say they are excellent, minimal dust and good resistance to fading.

Any feedback would be good to read. My hope is those in the mining field may have some good feedback.

Dont you have to have special discs to use ceramic pads?
I am not familiar with them on "standard" vehicles, but I do know that they are available on high performance cars such as Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc. For that reason I'm sure they are expensive!

Ive not heard of them being available for a non high speed vehicle such as a 4X4.

As far as I am aware they are available for 4wds', a mate has them on his pathy.
there was a lot of comment about them creating a excessive wear on rotors in the early days but I think that has been addressed. Yep they are expensive but I don't know what the wear comparison is to standards pads.
