I will admit to selling cars purely out of boredom and I also can't afford to do things all at once but I cant stand waiting too long to finish projects because by the time I have I'm sick of the car and sell it anyway. Not telling you what to do but if you are going to spend well over $1000 on your suspension and even other upgrades you might as well have time to enjoy them before you upgrade again.
    Thanks
    Matt

P.S- want to see what you can ask for, come on the next meet-up. No one has got everything but when we do meet I know for one, my list gets longer and longer.

After spending the equivalent of the national debt on the car, how do I make a case for spending a few more grand - 'cause if I get the lift kit, I might as well get the dual batts and winch...

      Pharque!!!!
You sir are an inspiration... I think if there is a mass NSW PP meet up next year my wife will want names of who to kill...

I've had the Lovells / Bilsteins / Poly's for 3 or so weeks now.

        Impressions:

Vastly improved in the body roll department. Prior it felt I was about to roll of the seats around corners. Now it is much more safer.

Harsher on speed bumps. Factory shocks are soft and absorb bumps.

Prior to upgrade, was travelling 200km down south for beach camping. 200kg in the back and 100kg on the roof and back end was sagging by 4 inches. Car felt unsafe on the road and really struggled to hit beyond 120km/h. Made me actually disappointed in the engine power, or so I thought (it really struggled to be honest). I guess with the rear end sagging, it lifts the front creating a brick tank, affecting the aredoynamics. Also bottomed out badly on the beach.

Just came back a few days ago from same spot, same weight in back and up top and the power in overtaking was substantially better.

More importantly, no sag and car felt like it was built like a tank. Rock solid at all speeds.

And was able to flog it on the beach with no bottoming out at all. 2 x Pajero's (one Petrol, other Gas) with 400kg less in the car and BFG AT (mines are Grandcrap) could not keep up with me. I wasn't racing and slowed down when I needed to, but mine was safer in all conditions.

Can't wait to see what difference BFG AT's make in a years time.

I'm one happy camper, as you can tell, with my suspension.

Damn it! I NEVER get better than 17l/100km around town. (Best ever was 14.5l/100km and that was highway cruising with full load, roof racks and packed roof bag) Does this mean when I upgrade to STT's that I am looking at 19l/100km. Jeez I hope not! Might have to consider liposuction on the right foot.

Those guys have turbo diesels, you (and I) have petrols. Well, I have LPG now as well. I think I got about 16-17L/100km on the petrol. That's about normal.

As for how much I spent... I bought used OME springs for about... $200??? And I got a pair of used 100 series rear shocks for maybe $30 or so, I can't remember. I still have the original front shocks. What can you expect from someone who buys a crashed prado coz he can't afford a good one? How do I like it? I can't remember what it was like before, but I think the ride is fairly harsh. I'm happy with the ride height and the rear articulation.

And the body lift cost about $100 or so of materials.
