United near the Austin hospital heidelberg still had diesel when I drive past this morning.
Most others I saw from Collingwood to G'borough had no price up so assume they are all out.

The Caltex on Diamond Creek Rd near Yan Yean Rd didn't have any last night but has some this morning @ $1.49/L. I topped up just in case.

          Sorry, couldn't resist :-)

It could just as easily have been the other way round.

              One reason for the shortage
              http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...022603&p=2#r38

There is no production issue, according to my Shell guy they received a sea tanker of diesel at Geelong about a week ago.
When they were unloading the ship in to the refinery storage tanks they accidentally pumped it into one which still had unleaded petrol in it contaminating the whole shipment so have had to re-refine it all before they can sell it.
They are just calling it a production issue so they don't look stupid.

There is still a supply issue from Shell, United should have plenty, they've had a ship in. Fill up when you can!

Regarding Shell's supply shortage, initial problem was an unplanned refinery issue, it was sorted by last Saturday, I understand the extension of the shortage is due to the above tank / fuel contamination.

Dalton rd has diesel I'm dropping about 17000 thousand .
                  Ringwood shell had diesel .
I could give a list of diesel deliveries today .

Does this confirm that no matter what brand of diesel you buy it all comes from the same place?

No . But Bp do come to shell sometimes it's just the additives that are differnt. Bp also don't have bio diesel .

Is this inside information if you are in Brisbane .

Just because you picked up the right pump at the servo dont think its got the right fuel coming out.......
I always check mine, different fuels are dyed different colours.
About 10 years ago in a Sydney Mobil, I found standard unleaded coming out the premium unleaded pump.
                          People make mistakes ha.......

The fuel was free, as was the bottle of octane booster from their shelf...... not good......
So perhaps have a squiz at whats coming out........

                            blkd4d,

You are closer, I can't tell you which stations have what or are going to get diesel as you can.

I do know the cause, not the specific effect.

                            D4D,

Not sure that this confirms all diesel comes from the same place, but at times all Australian based fuel companies share fuel, not necessarily in every market but certainly places like Darwin for instance, all the fuel comes from a central storage facility, Vopack at East Arm, different additives are used by brand and the same fuel is sold under every banner. Even before Vopack, all the Darwin fuel companies shared fuel.

My uncle has been in Shell most of his life. Not sure of his current position, but pretty high up in Aus and does a lot of travelling oversea\s to sort stuff out.
He once told me how caltex and shell do fuel swaps, eg, either caltex or shell has a refinery in sydney the other has one is Melbourne, so rather than transport it all the way back and forth, one supplied all the fuel in melb and the other did syd, not sure which way round it was, but i guess shell for melb caltex for syd......
So im sure there are plenty deals going on..... look how good they are at price fixing.... put it up now.... it takes a few hours they are all up!
