Could not find any previous thread's about this...

What is it and what does it do?

I have been looking at purchasing a few can's of Plasti Dip to do the rim's of the prado Matte Black, wanting to see if anyone on the forum has tried it and if so what results have you seen?

I can Matte black my car lol . That stuff looks good and to be able to take it off easy if you didnt like it .
Looks very easy to do wheels.

If you want to do the rims I would suggest you get them powder coated instead, looks better and I dare say will last longer. Have a look in my rig build if you want to see black rims.

They were like that when I bought it but from memory it's $160-$200 per wheel. They were done at Advanced Alloy Wheels in Moorabbin :- http://www.advancedalloys.com.au/

I only know because I contacted the previous owner of the vehicle who has been very helpful, I have no connection with the aforementioned business. I don't have the spare done as it's hidden under the wheel cover plus it still has the Grandcrap on it.

That seems pretty steep for powder coating, 50-60 a rim would be more like it.

A friend of mine bought a couple of cans of that stuff, tried it on the side mirrors of his FZJ71. He then demonstrated how to take it off and it was easier than peeling off a sticker! weird stuff, works great!
