Hi All,
I am new to the forum. I have been reading all the great info on this site for a while now, but since I didn't own a Prado, I didn't sign up. I just sold my '06 Bravo dual cab T/D. But I will be taking possession of a Prado very soon.
My query - My father has offered me his '07 GXL D4D manual for a reasonable price, as he is upgrading to a LC200. My question to you folks who are in the 'know'...
Here's the background - the vehicle has done 72,000kms, its been serviced every 5,000kms and Dad has never missed a dealer service. The vehicle is still under extended new car Toyota warranty until Easter, so I want to get any issues sorted (preferably) under warranty. Occasionally, when cold, there is a distinct, pronounced rattle when under acceleration. Sounds like a spray can being shaken. I suspect its injector related. At the last service I got dad to tell the dealership about the noise and they said its just a noisy injector and dismissed the issue.
Before the warranty is up, how can I check that the injectors and seals are fine? Take it to an independent diesel specialist? Or not worry?
Look forward to your help.
Cheers Fronty
