    So who's in Karratha

    So with a change of job comes a change of scenery, and i will be moving to Karratha in the not too distant future.
    I see there are a few PP's from that way, every body seems to be telling me the 4wheeling is going to be great, so does anybody have any experiences up there, places to go, things to do, words of advice??

          3.5hrs aye, just a short blast up the road.
          yeah i'm hoping to head out with somebody with some local knowledge first. Save me from getting into any embarrassing situations.

          As for the boat, i'm booked in to do my skippers ticket this weekend...

            You don't need a boat, just get a friend that has one. Save yourself $60,000. I have a mate that works for Woodside, of the 32 guys on his shift, 28 have fishing boats. They are always climbing over each other to get crew for their boats. Just have a look at all the fourbies, boats, jetskies, dirt bikes, etc advertised for sale along verge of the main drag when you head into town.

                  Sounds good. My mate has a boat up here that I should be able to use as well.
                  ive heard karajini is really good. I'll definitely be trying to do a weekend there at some stage.

                  Dave, is Rowley shoals a long way out? I Spose it wouldn't matter on a charter.
                  Theyve got me doing FIFO at the moment now untill they can organize a house. The jury is still out on how long that is going to take...

                        we are supposed to be given woodside housing. But it is taking a little longer than they originally anticipated. I think they will be putting us in transitional housing untill they can sort something permanent out. But in the meantime i'm in the bay village camp. It's not too bad, i've stayed in worse....

                          I drive up there regularly for work... Yes to fix boats and there is a shit load of them! The only advice I can say is stay away from the mud flats!!!
