I've spent many a weekend at Toolangi and surrounding areas and have always come back unscathed... maybe a little mud or dust or pinstripes to deal with but nothing major.
I headed out today and after failing an attempt to climb Joe's Spur Track I was on a fairly easy track (unnamed on my Rooftop map) i came to a VERY steep T intersection with another track. Unable to see the other track as I was ascending I took a punt and turned left at the top. This turned out OK as it was a T however after consulting the map I decided I wanted to go right not left. I tried to back down the ascending track a little so I could turn right instead of left but backed a little too far and was suddenly sliding backwards in an uncontrolled 4 wheel slide with all wheels locked.
Before I had time to think there was a might crunching sound and my front left had slid into a tree barely 3 metres down the track but close to the edge of the track.
It smashed in the front side panel and pushed the front left of my ARB forward and down.
This was looking back down the hill;

And this was the tree that I had an argument with;

This was the end result!
