Camping and fishing gear gets loaded and unloaded when needed or not. Fridge gets unloaded so I can clean it and flick it on mains power before I need it again. Recovery gear, tools and spares always stay on board. We don't have the luxury of the RAC driving onto beaches or pindan tracks to sort us out. My rig only gets used every third week and that's if I'm home for my break. Because I don't need it as a daily it's more convenient to have it ready when I get off the plane. Throw a set of bags under the rear, adjust to suit your loading and not a drama with the constant weight.

Everything out when around town. Prams take up way too much room.

Ditto for me. I prefer the extra weight on the suspension otherwise too harsh.
