Hi all just wondering how to download from my iPhone to laptop. I've so far got 2800 songs from my sisters laptop (another 3000 to go) which I plan on using in the Prado when I get another head unit with USB inlet. I could copy from my sisters laptop no probs. on my computer It says it will delete what music I have on my phone first which is obviously what I don't want. Do I need to purchase a programme of some sort to use to download from iPhone ??...... Cheers Steve

Hey Steve, unless you've done some kind of a jailbreak on your iphone (written over the top of the operating system), itunes controls everything that goes on your phone. If you sync your phone to one computer, then try to take it to another computer, it won't sync there until it removes everything the original computer put on it (at least in terms of music). If you want to get music from 2 different computers onto it, you need to copy all the music you want to a single computer and sync the phone from that computer. I think it's meant to be an anti-piracy measure. -
Hi there talk2tiny, I'm not trying to get music from both laptops, just trying to get the ones on my iPhone onto my laptop then delete them from my phone so I have enough room on my phone to get the other 3000 songs off my sisters laptop then do the same again. Then copy from my laptop onto a USB stick so I can plug into new head unit in Prado no more discs then. No jailbreak mate, lucky to work out how to download photos lol. If you are trying to transfer iTunes purchased songs to your PC and have access to the iTunes account where the songs were purchased, then just choose "transfer purchased items" in iTunes. Unfortunately I don't have access and I didn't buy them neither did my sister, her girlfriend gave them to her as her girlfriend owns a Dj business and shd did purchase them. I might try another way by transferring the songs from her computer to a USB stick. Not sure weather iTunes will let me do that or not ?? Itunes will do what u want but songs will be in mp4 format make sure the head unit can play mp4
otherwise u have to convert them all to mp3Comment

just select and copy to a folder or USB drive but all purchased music will have a .m4a extention your head unit must be able to play mp4 formatComment
