So I get a call from a mates wife "the Prado won't start" "I think the battery's dead" no probs I say, I will be around in 30 minutes.
I arrive and ask " why do you thinks its a battery problem? She says "we'll it clicks but that's it, it did try at first but now nothing..."
Ok, so I try to start it, the batteries dead, no doubt. I look around and find he obvious switch knowing the Electrician owner has dual batteries and the standard red arc unit allowing the rig to start off the second battery. Immediate start, so I let the engine run a while and explain to his missus about the emergency only switch.
Now, because my mate is an ELECTRICIAN, I have a tester unit in the car so I check to see if his sin battery is holdings charge a few minutes after turning it off. Yep, read 12.6, just like a new one,VERY strange?
I talk to the lovely lady of the house who looks at me a little coy and admits she had the car radio on to listen to a song while she took the joeys inside. That won't flatten a battery I say. Well the headlights may have been on (may? Why is it may?) yeh, but that won't flatten the battery after 1 song...... After a bit of coaxing she admits it may have been an hour ( or MORE).
So, no new battery required and the wife of the electrician now knows how to start the rig after a heavy session of rock and roll with the headlights as party lights while the engine is off.
Good to know
Anyway, my conundrum is do I tell the mate?
