I brought an I-MAX 12000lb winch with dyneema rope on eBay, it cost a total of $415 delivered to the door.
It was well packaged in 2 boxes, one box for the winch and the other for the control box and accessories.
On inspection it looks good and after I pulled the gearbox off to check that it was greased up and to rotate the gearbox to fit the ARB bar I was happy with the purchase. The sealing was reasonable good but I added some gasket goo for extra protection. The control box has an O ring seal around the the top so i'll keep an eye on that.
Fitting it to the bar was no drama at all, not cutting or grinding. The only thing I had to do was relocate 1 of the air conditioning pipes that runs across the front of the radiator behind the bracket that holds the trans oil cooler and I had to buy longer bolts to mount the winch, top bolts had to be 5mm longer and the bottom 10mm.
The I-MAX winch comes with 2 remote controls as well as the cable controller. The winch control box attaches behind the winch and is not visible outside the engine bay.
Will see how it goes next time I go bush.
Cheers, Terry
