Hi,

Thanks for this web site there is a lot of information that has helped me already. I have a prado with the 1Kz intercooled diesel engine with 390K on the clock. The problem I have is in the last 2 months it has started rough 3 times and one of them was when it was warm. It is also losing about a ltr of coolant every 2 weeks.I would expect a cracked head but would it not do it all the time?. I would be very grateful for any help.

You could try a can of Chemiweld first. It fixed my son's Surf for 60,000 km till he sold it (same motor)

Yeah, he was losing 12L a day on our Cape York trip. We stopped to refill the radiator every 20 min. (1/2 - 2 Litre at a time.) Once the Chemiweld was added it took 15 minutes to work. First Stop took 300 mL second 20 mL and nothing after that.Brilliant stuff. It only works on engines, not so well on radiators.

for radiator bars stop leak, but only in an emergency, just to get you home till it gets replaced. cheers samo
