By adding a bullbar and not upgrading my suspension I'm endangering my occupants and everyone around me?? LOL lay off the crack pipe..

Shows how selfish and narrow minded you are by your comment. And infact your insurance will wipe you if you have a crash as your vehicle is not road worthy with the added weight over the front

So I'm selfish, narrow minded, plus I endanger my occupants and everyone around me? All because I have a bar on my unmodified car? (no second battery, winch etc).

Strangely I have done around 650,000 with bars on unmodified 4x4s with zero issues. ARB installed my bar and ARB stated I did not need to upgrade suspension, even at the risk of losing an additional sale.

Also, I was the head of Motor insurance for one of the biggest insurers in Australia for 4yrs. A bullbar is allowed without suspension modification. We used ARB as our preferred supplier/fitter for motor claims where appropriate. Again no issue with bars fitted to standard 4x4s.

But I guess you know best. Thanks for the personal insults too.

ARB has told me that it will not affect the front suspension unless i add winch. So if i have a passenger in the car that weighs 90kg, does this mean everyone needs to upgrade there suspension ? .

Thanks for your comments guys, Ive called my insurance and no problem as long as its road worthy. I agree with the comments on upgrading suspension if i decide to go off road, but not looking extreme 4 x 4. Im only adding bar, no lights, no winch. The only extra mod will be Under V, P. I also do agree with cruzza about adding the weight to the front. Maybe its a bit different with the newer Prados as the factory suspension would be designed to take extra weight knowing most owners will add a bar. Thanks again guys for you help.

The location of the weight matters just as much too

No one can tell you what to do ... Someone can only provide more or less helpful information and you decide yourself what you're gonna do anyway, i reckon.

Anyway, there's a difference between weight sitting at the front of the of the vehicle and weight sitting between front and rear axle, like that of a passenger. The bull bar at the one end is mechanically a totally different situation. The bull bar adds to the load of the front suspension not only by its weight but also by the leverage that results from the distance between its weight and the front suspension. That may not be much in some cases, more in others. But, again, your call of course.
