For those of you who know Matthew from Ample Outdoors at Clarence, he lost his personal workshop to the fire and the flames came right up to his house.
Matthew and his family are presently in Dubai and could only watch what was happening via news reports and the web.
Fortunately the main workshop and office were saved thanks to the efforts of his father and neighbour, as well as the firies.2014 Black GXL D4D Auto with a few add ons.

Apparently the looters are active over there. TV news showed a makeshift sign that read: "Looters about, shoot to injure."Dave

Keep safe guys, My heart goes out to people who have lost everything. I too was at black Saturday fires (Tanker support) and it was horrific to say the least. LOOTERS, are the lowest form of life on this planet and we all know what should happen to them!!!!. Heard stories about them on BS fires and I know what I'd do if I caught them in the act.Steve

What a few days after being delayed in NZ as wife was hospitalised on our 2nd last day of holidays, rebooked flights to return to Brisbane as that is where the Prado and dogs was left for minding at daughters place whilst we were away. Fires take hold in our region. I jumped onto a flight to return to Sydney on touch down in Brissy ,arrive home and been going ever since, preparing home for potential fire front, helping mates while they are sleeping or out on 12 hour night shift ,doing RFS duties today was the day that posed the most danger. Fortunately a favourable but gusty S/W wind and 12 strike units were able to contain the fire onto the western side of MT Lagoon rd which was an important factor in preventing the spread back thru the eastern end of Bilpin and Kurrajong Hts where we are and further over to Bowen Mt. Although we can rest tonight we will still be on alert for a while yet as the fire of 2001 had a similar pattern but was a further 6 days later when it took off and ran again impacting our property. The current plan with favourable winds is for the fire to run into Comeloroy rd wheeny ck area where there is ground that has had an earlier this year hazard burn. Tonight we have a good view of the continuing burn along Mt Lagoon which looks impressive when we finally relax. Just got to get back up to Brissy to get Prado and dog and wife when she is ready to travel home.New 2015 150s GX 5 seater with floor mats, towbar and a big wish list
