Bit of an interesting situation I found myself in yesterday.
Sitting at the lights and heard a big skidding noise behind. Looked in the side mirror to see a car do a full 360 and hit a light pole. It clean snapped the light pole and somehow it fell over the car without hitting it. I did a big u turn straight over the median strip to see if the bloke was ok. He was fine but shaken up understandably.
The light pole was blocking both lanes of traffic, with cars backing up quickly. 3 guys and I couldn't even budge the light pole so I got the trusty prado winch out and winched it off the road as traffic was backing up massively as it was the corner of a main road.
First time the prados winch has ever winched a fallen street light off a road! Coppers were pretty impressed once they saw the winch hooked up and the pole dragged off the street. Another reason to own a 4x4!
The bloke should be counting his lucky stars!
