  • Interesting....

I dare say it is Prado abuse. Others might like it.

There is one in Shefield here in Tasmania.

It sure is different. But then again it gives you the best of both worlds if you don't want to move on from a Prado.

There's a 120 dual cab ute down in Esperance. It actually looks pretty good. For those of us that never use the middle and rear seats a tray on the back wouldn't be a bad idea. I know what I would do if I got rear ended.

Well, I guess the advantage is that if you got the top of the range Prado, it would still have more bells and whistles than a 70 Series/Hilux dual cab...

But with the Prado you've got heaps more room and more comfortable too.

I think it is definitely creative but it looks pretty weird, kind of like one of those ssangyong's. It hurts me to say that but it looks like someone just put the wrong body on a tray just like the ssangyong's!

If someone can go to that much trouble, surely a mod to the rear door to make a split option, isn't that hard?

A mate of mine has one. He loved his Prado, but wanted a ute to carry motorbikes and other camping gear, has lots of money so got it done. Not as expensive as I thought. The entire conversion including bullbar, snorkel, winch, stretch, new suspension, tray etc was about $24,000 from memory. It is good, but a very long beast. Up in the Vic high country it has to take 2-3 bites to get around some of the tight turns, the ramp over angle is terrible and it is probably a bit underpowered for the extra size, but it takes a lot of gear in it.

Here is a picture from a trip earlier this year next to mine.

If it adds value for money it swallowed, why not? in Mongolia, guys mod 100 and 80 series to 6x6, long bed is fine but 6x6 conversion seemed a little clumsy

I take it the conversion includes fitting leaf instead of coil for load capacity?

Wouldn't be too much recline on the rear seat I reckon ?? As long as you aren't sitting upright like you do in most duel cab utes I reckon it would be great.... Wonder if the chassis handles the extra length ok ?? If I had a lazy 20k and wanted best of both worlds Id certainly look at getting it done.....Cheers Steve

The one in my pics has coils.
