Two months ago I started a thread to alert Pradopointers about the new Toyota recall campaign for the towbar on the 120 series Prados.
I checked tonight and so far the thread has had well in excess of 11000 hits.
It got me thinking - what towns in Australia have a popularion in the 10000-12000 range?
I can't swear to huge accuracy here because it depends on the data source and its age, but a quick Google search revealed places like Ayr (Qld), Batemans Bay (NSW), Warragul (Vic), New Norfolk (Tas), Victor Harbour (SA), Port Headland (WA) and Katherine (NT) should roughly fit into that category.
Admittedly some hits may have been from the same forum members, but I look at it this way. It's equivalent to nearly every man, woman and child living in Ayr, or Batemans Bay, or Warragul, or New Norfolk, or Victor Harbour, or Port Headland, or Katherine looking at this one thread.
We've got a powerful communication tool here folks. There are many threads on the forum which show many multiples of 11000 hits, and justifiably so. I'm just interested in getting my head around the volume of traffic my little item has generated in two months by placing it in a different context.
I'm not sure how Pradopoint compares in its reach to other Australian internet forums, but it must be one of the more highly read ones. Maybe one of the moderators can shed a light on this. Pradopoint certainly appears to have the potential for considerable leverage, whether that's comercial or political.
Now, if I could only work out some way to get paid 20 cents per hit, I'd have a nice little earner to fund even more accessories!
Cheers
