Now that is pretty spectacular. Makes stunt artists from the western world look like beginners - although life expectancies would differ somewhat.

Now, technically, that's certainly not standard drive line behaviour... any thoughts on how that was possible?

Bit of mod work - some pipework and a mico brake lock http://www.mico.com/products/brake-a...on/brake-locks

Notice they only had 2 wheel nuts per wheel?

No Saudis were harmed in the making of this video, though plenty were killed in the practice run...

Well lockers would cause the raised tyres to spin, so unless there's missing axles, that can't be it.

The lifted front wheel spun in the air initially, and whilst wrenching, so I'd say the entire front prop shaft is removed.

The lifted rear stopped spinning the moment it lifted, and never moved whilst wrenching, so I'd say they have an independently controlled brake on that, and an open rear diff.

Would have liked to see them change one for the spare on the back

The FJ can be driven in 2wd mode.

                    oooh I didn't know that!
FJ sounds like a pretty good vehicle - 2wd and large flares for fitting 33's easily

Yes, and rear diff lock and CRAWL control is standard along with dual tanks now.

I assume crawl control would use brakes like traction? If so, no thanks!! There's probably so many aftermarket options from USA so could install lower gears or replace the transfer. Unfortunately it's hard to find such options for my 90.

Yes but have you seen CRAWL working to get you out of being bogged in sand?

Hadn't seen it until now - looks pretty good.

I'd still rather get through with my own throttle control and lockers (which I need anyway for the terrain I usually drive)

                            Too much computers = boring

That Crawl control looks pretty impressive.

                              Regards, Jay.
