Top End mechanic recommendations?

G'day all


We'll be passing through The top end of NT and WA in the next month and am looking for some local firsthand recommendations for a trustworthy mechanic to perform the 90k service on our V6 Prado. I know we could go to a Toyota dealer but am looking at other options.


So any recos for Darwin, Katherine, Kunnanurra or Wyndham are appreciated.


I'm sure this info will be helpful for other travellers as well.

90K service should just be an oil an filter change. Could DIY on the road.

I've have really good dealings with Toyota in Katherine. Otherwise I normally use Gibbsy's Auto's next to Mc Donalds in Darwin (4/4 Wedd St, Stuart Park NT 0820 (08) 8941 4482)

I don't know of any mechanics who wear rubber gloves.

For what its worth, id recommend Broome Auto Excellence if anyone needs a mechanic around these parts. Ask for a guy named Nick, very knowledgeable.
