I am buying an 18th month old Prado (upmarket version).
It has 18 months warranty left, and is low mileage.
I can get 3 years extra Toyota Warranty and Roadside etc for 4.5 years warranty therefore, for quoted $1450 but it may come down; $1750 (may come down) for an extra year (5.5 years inc roadside).
Useful if I sell it for sure ... but I only would if a convincing V6 diesel came along.
Is it worth it? Limit on mileage is 200k.
I did this on my current Prado, which I bought new ... in 1997. No roadside back then I think (not sure if this one includes a battery wearing out); and of course, I never used it. Back then I thought I might only keep the vehicle for 3 years, as I had always got a new vehicle very 3 years. The Prado changed that ... and its current mileage is 200k, so 200k is enough.
I can also get an el cheapo warranty that is dealer restricted and also is worth max $3,000. Its free though ...
