    Can we fit five adult Pax comfortably in a Prado?

    Hello,
    I would like to rent me a Land Cruiser Prado 5 Pax.
    Now I need your help. Is the car big enough for 5 people?
    Each person has a large travel bag. Fits all in the car?

    I would expect so. 5 regular-adult-sized pax will be no problem. You could probably get 3 large bags on their ends then two more bags on top. Naturally, if you can pack it with the least amount of height, it will be safer for everyone.

    You don't say how far you're driving. If it is is a big trip, then the more room the better.

    If in doubt, go the LC100.

      We want 3 weeks driving through Central America, perhaps 4000Km. I hope it fits everything even if it is uncomfortable

        I've no doubt that you'll be able to fit 5 fairly large travel bags in the rear load space. How much other gear you'll be able to fit in though will be the question. With 5 people I'm guessing you'll have 2 in the front and 3 in the 2nd row...... unless this is some type of kinky outing....... :shock:

        With 3 peeps in the back you wont have a lot of extra space to stash some of those every day travelling bags that people sometimes like to take with snacks, water bottles and the like in them. If you're camping then I'd suggest you're going to be cramped up a fair bit, when you add in all the necessary camping gear. Your only option would be to stack your gear in the rear cargo space, and you need to be careful doing that as a bag of tent pegs could become lethal if you need to hit the brakes hard at any time. If the Prado has a cargo barrier fitted then that will make things a lot safer. Even with the cargo barrier, gear for a 3 week 5 person camping trip will make things quite cramped in my opinion. Unless you pack very basic camping gear for the odd night you don't find a hotel, you might get away with that.

        If you're hotelling it then you guys won't have any probs! Your 5 bags plus day packs in the back will all go in easily.

        Of course, a roof rack changes everything. With a decent roof rack you could fit a heck of a lot more gear on board.

        Another thought is that if you've got the option of the 3rd row seats you might be able to shift the configurations around a bit if the 2nd row peeps are beefy grid iron players or something. Like I'm thinking chuck in one 3rd row seat and leave the other one out. You could put something between the 2 grid iron players in the 2nd row and then still fill up the remaining cargo space. Probably not the best use of the available space though, and you'd definitely have to stack some stuff up then.....

          it will be better or I guess the word Ideal to have a small Box trailer for your travel bags as well any other relevant goodies and have all the space of comfort in the prado !!
