Hi all will be picking up new 2014 GXL Prado in a few weeks. I do a lot of surfing and wondering what others do with their proximity key. With my current key on our RAV I use a surf lock (like a big padlock that holds the key) and I lock this to the tow bar. My question is I can't see this working as the proximity key will be at the car? Can the proximity key be isolated and a standard key be used?

The proximity key has to be quite close to the door lock to work, it is likely that down by the tow bar is far enough away to not work. Certainly worth giving it a try, your existing surf lock may be fine.Greg & Kris
