Centre Diff Lock Not Working 120 Diesel Auto

Hi can anyone tell me what they think the problem is with this. Its a 2007 GX auto diesel and shifting into HL and then to LL works fine, but I know the centre diff is definitely not engaging nor do the lights on the dash turn on. Also in low range it seems a bit stiff, bigg delay in changing gears in low range feels stiff.
I checked the fuse under the dash and it was okay. also checked some of the electrical connections to the transfer case and they seem ok.
Could it be that the transfer case oil hasn't been changed in a while and won't engage the centre diff? Worse case scenario if the transfer case needs rebuilding what it the approx. cost? Not sure when the diff was locked last as this is a company car and just passed on to me.

Have you tried turning sharp right or left (eg u turn) and can you feel it shuddering like centre diff is locked ?? I went out a few weeks ago and Locked in centre diff lock (HL) I could feel it locked but for some reason centre diff lock light wouldn't come on for the whole day. Went out couple of weekends ago and come on straight away !!! No idea why it did that. Tried it again today and all good..... Cheers Steve

I had the same SteveM. I think it gets its monthly cycle of beligerance.
