RE: what is the pressure range the high and low pressure alerts can be set to?
The current unit I have which I am sending back does ranges of 25.8 - 35.8 psi for low alarm to 35.5 - 49.5 psi for high alarm.
This is not enough for the tyre pressures I would use. Ideally it would be 10-60psi or anywhere in between to allow for road conditions.Comment

Hi Joe, I ended up getting Fobo Tire and have been very happy with it.
The only downside is the pressure range that can be set as high and low 23.5 and 50.5 from memory.
The thresholds in effect are better than this as you have 15% variation on top of this for the first alarm level and 30% on top of this for the critical alarm level.
My tyres would regularly be above the 50.5 level but not above 15% higher so the alerts can be easily ignored but once they get to a critical level I was told there is no way to turn them off other than pull the battery from the unit, I did not what to do this for long periods in sand. I could live with this from the high pressure threshold but the low pressure is more of a concern when on sand. i haven't had the opportunity to test this as yet but I am planning a few months off and will be on sand regularly. With Fobo Tire the bluetooth technology has worked a treat and good that you can share profiles with other who drive the car etc. They are regularly updating the software so any issues should hopefully be overcome with new updates.
Saying that, a few weeks ago I had an interesting email exchange with the guys from Fobo in Malaysia and have just purchased 2 sets of FOBO Bike which is recently released. I have just received them so they are not installed yet. According to them if I run the "Quad Bike" profile (4 tyres) I should be able to set the thresholds to between 4.5-87 psi (from memory), I only need 10-60psi so should be plenty. The key thing with these products is what can you set the alarm thresholds to as this is not always easy to find out. They can all monitor a wide range but nothing worse than having the alarm constantly going off and you can't turn it off which is what i had with my original unit that I sent back. Hope this makes sense.
I have donated the old set to the other half for her birthday as she always forgets to check her tyres so its a win-win hopefully.Comment
