Spare wheel cover key

    I've also just purchased a 120 prado and the seller didn't supply the key for the wheel cover. I found that with some pressure on both sides of the cover down low it would come loose enough to slide off the bottom and then I can still lift it off then. I was also lucky the the lock is also missing for the nut on the spare wheel holder.

    I found on eBay a replacement lock for the cover if I can figure out how to get the old one out and a lock for the nut.

      The actual nut/lock on the spare wheel itself is unlocked using the ignition key....Cheers Steve

                  What is involved in removing the old lock? Is it just pop rivots?

                      I haven't'the figured that bit out yet but that could be all there is to it. We need someone to show a picture of what it looks like unlocked.

                          It looks like you can remove the tab from the barrel via a screw, or the nut can slip over the tab. Don't think there are any pop rivets involved from the ebay picture.

                            All sorted. Went to a locksmith. Did the whole job for $55. Didnt have to order new locks.
