Changing fog lamps on ARB bar - help

Went today to buy some fog lamps as one of mine is cracked.

The guy at the store said I only needed to remove 3 bolts, but as I found out it is more than that. I have to remove the middle plate too so I can place my hand on the inside of the panel that needs to drop. These bolts have a hex nuts on top. it's impossible to reach them.

Am i doing something wrong?

The nuts you speak of are not impossible to reach, they can be tricky but I have had those plates of plenty of times without any real issue. if you have short fat arms its going to be more of a challenge.

The wheel arch liner was removed at the time of the bullbar install. So try removing a few of the clips and pull the liner out a bit.

The new wires on the new fog lamps were shorter ( why ARB!!)

Had to solder an extension!

You should have changed your indicators/parkers to LED whilst you were at it.

BTW I think a bird has made its home in your radiator

Well i put it all back and then turned all the headlights on and realised i had the small parking light globe out!! Couldnt believe it. Forgot to check. So i will have to do it again. Do you know what LED globes it needs?

I cleared the bird nest btw!

You can buy the LED retrofit kits from ARB.

I ended up placing LED globes instead. If anyone is looking at doing this, you need to get a short BA15D LED globe for the turn signal, and you can get the larger size for the parker.

Did you do a direct swap on the fogs or replace them with something better?

I just did a direct swap with the fog lamps. Getting the globe out seemed a little tricky. I wanted to replace them with a 5000k light globe, but left it as is.

Parker and blinkers are LED globes. $5, cheaper then the retro kit, wasn't that fussed really. I would of put LED kit in there if my car was more modern :P
