Hi PP'ers.
in case you've been busy with other stuff and haven't noticed but The Camping & Caravan Show at Wayville Showground ends today. I've been waiting for a show like this for awhile but don't check on a regular basis so only found out and attended yesterday. Was really hoping Drifta would have a presence there but alas no such luck . Anyway, got myself a set of lightforce 215 LED lights and they threw in the harness, anti theft screws, and an ROX40 light for the back. $1290 all up which i think is a pretty good deal. There's lots of information about camping spots all over SA. Great event i reckon. Anyone else got a great bargain there?

i had a good day there yesterday with the Father in Law (he is looking for a caravan). Was bloody hot though. Did get a couple of 'bargains' but.... a minor gripe though....does anyone else find that in a lot of cases the 'show' specials are really not discounted at all? Was looking at some redarc goodies from the ARB bit and they were 20% MORE than what you would usually pay from a local supplier....I guess they have a captive market of people who have spent money on getting in so 'may as well get something'. I did get offered a good deal on a bar but on the flip side there was a lot there that had been marked up! I guess you just have to go in as informed as possible....

I may have spent a few sheckles but nothing I am committing to writing just in case the missus logs on.

I find it a good opportunity to catch up with suppliers you know. As for discounts, well you will always do better outside the show with suppliers that value your custom.

All that said, i didn't say hi to the ARB boys because they were too busy and I had that AJ fellow with me which as most will appreciate is a little embarrassing....

I looked at a couple of the stands and found almost everything was cheaper online. Was really hoping for sub $240 MaxTrax but ARB were the best at $250.


Did pick up an Oztent RV5 Tag-a-long for $450.

I got a 120AH battery and battery box from the Home of 12V Guys. Managed to save a few $$$ but really should've borrowed a trolley to take it to the car, my arms nearly fell off by the time I made it back there!

$250 for the battery, $129 for the box. Battery has 2 year warranty.
