Hi All,

Although this is not strictly a Prado thread, it can be used to buy items for your Prado that may not be available here in Australia. I have just used this buying service to purchase a reversing camera for my Prado and saved $170.00 on the cheapest price I could find in Australia by doing so.

Hope this helps out someone who maybe looking in the US for an item. The best part is the buying agent in Colorado can utilise the rebates that are available to US buyers on goods which can lead to some huge savings.

Just remember that anything over $999 AUD you will have a 99% chance of being hit with Duty and GST. (Minimum is usually $250 in duty). This can sour any good prices you may get.

On the flip side I have imported many big dollar items and not been hit, it is luck of the draw. I usually make allowance for the GST component as the items I usually import do not attract any other duties, if the item gets through it is an added bonus if not then I have accounted for it.

Usually the even with the GST added the item is way cheaper than purchasing here. I normally go for electronic items ( most are dual voltage these days) with international warranty or I will purchase an international warranty if I think it is needed.
I have only done that once and it was against my better judgement, the item has never shown any signs of breaking in two years so I could have saved myself some money there.

The other thing to keep in mind is that Australian customs can add up the total of all imports that come in a short space of time and charge GST on the total of all those imports.

I am looking to replace my eclipse camera as it is useless at night. How have you found this one for night vision? I note that it is designed for the Pioneer units specifically, any problems in customising it to suit different units (I have one of the Kenwoods)

Yep that is the one I am getting, should be arriving soon but as I selected free shipping option within the US it can take sometime to get to the forwarder.

It is a universal camera and can be used on any system that has a composite video input.

If you include the shipping of 10$ on top of the buy now price I saved a further $51.00 by getting it in the USA.

Just thought I would update this thread to let people know that I received my pioneer reversing camera via this buying service and all went smoothly. It took a little while for the actual store I bought it at to deliver it to the buyers agent in the US but once it arrived it was reposted to me the same day.

Very small camera, smaller than the one I bought off ebay, I have yet to fit it but will get to it soon.

No mate, I just used the buying service like anyone else can. I must say though that Carolina who owns the business is right on the ball and she is darn quick off the mark in getting in contact with you at all stages. You just don't see customer service like she provides anymore.

I know this sounds awfully like a plug but I am in no way associated with her or her business except that I guess I am now classed as a happy customer.
