Jeep Cherokee is not the Grand Cherokee, ones based on a piece of shit Chysler, the other the old ML Merc.

You mean the Prado will iron out the issues? The Prado gets it in a few weeks, Hilux can't be bought till Christmas or early next year due to supply constraints.

        @#############

I had an XR6 Turbo and it used MORE fuel because off boost it was the SAME as the standard car, on boost it had MORE air so to maintain the fuel ratio it had to add MORE fuel. To prove this when I tuned it the injectors rainout of FUEL because there was too much air being forced in and bigger injectors where required to balance the air fuel ration.

The XR6 Turbo only made the extra torque on BOOST when more AIR and more FUEL was needed. I averaged 12.5L/100km in the manual ute which was 1800kg car empty thanks to the stiffer chassis.

And the 1KD in my Auto averages 8.5L why and 9.7 around town. The Petrol V8 in my bosses Tundra averages 13L/100km - the TDV8 in the 70 series averages 11-13L.

Hmmm i don't like the idea of the Prado being used as the guinea pig for a brand new engine. It makes sense though because the Hilux is the work horse of many organisations so they cant have reliability issues, my work has over 100 Hilux driving around alone. Being Toyota however im sure they know what they are doing?

It's interesting that Toyota has used a 2.8ltr diesel and not a more powerful v6 diesel. Can't see how that is going to stop loss of sales to competitors.

More to the point why a 2.8ltr 4 cylinder diesel rather than a more powerful v6.....oh that's right they don't want to dent the 200 series sales. Won't stop Ford (Everest) and others chewing away at the sales numbers. A definite mistake IMO.

It's very interesting that Ford haven't done any announcements on price or model spread for the Everest apart from the photos on their web site and the drive day in Thailand. I'm betting that they will be right up there with the Prado pricing and range and leveraging off the good reports on the Ranger.

Who is using a V6 diesel? The fist Chrysler one in the Nav is gone, the same one in jeep will be gone too soon. The disco is up for a new single turbo in the all new update.

Everyone else is running smaller diesels. The 2.8 is going to be the biggest on the market!

Yes but the power and torque is down compared to the Disco and others

Of course. But that's the future unless they go hybrid, turbo direct inject patrols are cleaner and just as fuel efficient these days. In five years diesel won't be as popular.

Do you mean petrols? Direct injection has a few issues to iron out inpetrol motors.

Lets hope the Prado gets more kW than the hilux like the ones now.
