Hi guys,

Will be time to change the brakes soon, so I am also thinking of doing the rotors since I tow a lot. Read somewhere here that is helps the braking when stopping/towing.

I have the 120 series, was looking at getting the DBA slotted rotors. Any other recommendations?

Anyone know where I can get the above rotors at a good price?

I am based in Sydney.

I have slotted rotors on my Prado,, you can have them if you want.. Yes you get better braking when driving at speed out in the country but they have a bad pulsing feeling at slow speeds as the pads grab on and off over the slots.

Interesting raydes, I'm about to do my front ones and was also looking at slotted. I wonder if it's a Prado thing ?? Plenty of people using slotted on all different types of vehicles. Would think if any issues in this way there would be more talk of it. Maybe I'll just stick to standard rotors

That must be annoying. Let's see if anybody else experiences the same thing, otherwise I will just stick to the ones I have now.

I have never had a problem with slotted rotors before. Wonder if your rear discs are warped? When I changed the front rotors on the 120 I still had a pulsating feeling under brakes but it was more felt in the seat that anywhere else and I discovered the rear discs needed machining/replacement. Did that and the feeling went away.

Gday mate, i changed my front pads and rotors 6 months ago, i did dimpled and slotted rotors and i have to say best thing ive done to my 120.. i got Tora dimpled and slotted from autopartsonline off ebay they were cheaper than DBA and dba dont come dimpled.. i got Remsa pads to go with it but will soon be changing them they are absolute rubbish. Wore out to the markers already purely because they are organic friction material meaning no metal id be going with a semi metallic material with my next pads. Probably Zircon or the likes.
regarding the pulsating feeling Raydes was talking about thatd be your warped rotors mate the slots arent wide enough to cause a pulsation, the fact that its slotted should minimise pulsation because it would cool down your rotors and disperse brake dust and debris more efficiently than a standard rotor. You should consider getting a better brand of rotor or not so aggressive pad.
