So after all the help I got from you guys on some ideas for my fibreglassing booth (which is in the process and coming along well) i thought I'd ask you guys again to help me out with some ideas.
Meet Wolfie, our new old dog... we rescued from being shot a few days ago because his owners couldn't be bothered looking after him or his medical bills. He is 10 years old and has arthritis in his hind legs. He can't stand to be alone and consequently has to go everywhere with me. No problem with me and he is a great companion and very well mannered and behaved. But he really struggles getting into the Prado. Getting out is not so bad but getting in needs a helping hand.
I've been thinking of a basic ramp with a hinge in the middle but on the same hand, getting it in and folded once he is in the rear will be difficult. My next thought is to use the hinge system on one of the third row seats for him. Ours is an earlier 95 series which doesn't have the quick release system for the seat.
But the idea of being able to fold it down, then out and o er the tailgate somehow seems appealing... if i can sort out a way of making it work.
So... any thoughts folks?
Btw... here he is. To give you an idea of calm and patient he is, I took this photo parked in Bourke St in the Melbourne CBD... I'm sitting here typing this with the tailgate wide open and me beside him. We have had cars racing and people racing past. Emergency vehicles with lights and sirens plus trams clanging past. The entire time he just hasn't given a shit. Just lays here sleeping or with his head on my lap. Beautiful old boy and the epitome of man's best friend.
