Had the whole job done, and no cleavage! Talked them down a fair bit for price. Rustproofing was sh%t. Get it by Rustfree, I've always had great job from them. Found out that the paint treatment is just a high quality polish. If you can get it, do it yourself and save a packet. Seems to last well though. If you're going to spend the time and effort , may as well use the best stuff.

Had the interior done, and the next week had biro ink spilt on the seat - nearly freaked. Came straight off! I am looking for seat covers but am having a bit of trouble finding quality at a reasonable price.

I went to Caboolture Seat Covers. They used to make the EOM seatcovers in Australia for Toyota, so they know their stuff.

They are in Caboolture of course on the Eastern side of the highway. Take the Bribie Island exit, turn left at roudabout and go up there a bit.

Same here - had just shelled out on a Prado GXL and after the thank-you-handshake from the sales guy the dolly-bird was duly wheeled in with a sales catalogue. Heck, we even knew the guy who owned the dealership (got a corker of a deal by the way) and this still happened. I politely said 'No', but it was pretty amusing.

My missus, who by her own admission knows jack about cars, was also amused about the rust protection - "Why would a new car rust?", she asked me. I told her it was more to do with them wanting to grease their bank balance. And that's exactly what it's all about.

I would hardly single Toyota out for this though - they're all at it, because on the whole it works. Again, it's the "Do you want fries with that?" of the auto industry. Nothing more, so I wouldn't worry about it.

When I was looking for a new fourby I was impressed by a new Navara. I had done all my research, test drove a couple, looked at Toyota also. Rang the local Nissan dealer to talk about a general price and they just would not give me one. They insisted I come and talk to 'em. I said no, I am running a business and I simply did not have the time I asked the guy to give me a price a second time, still no joy.

That put a big X on the project Navara. I emailed all the Toyota dealers on the East coast, it was easy. I still get calls from various sales people, a guy from Melbourne rings me all the time just to have a chat (maybe things are slow down there?).

We are now the proud owners of a Prado, the most ostentatious looking car I have ever owned with its big shiny 'bar and toothy grill. Bought the factory bar, headlight protectors and floor mats. I could not see the point of paint protection and rust proofing.

That phone call to Nissan was probably the best thing that could have happened.
150 Vx D4D, Deluxe Arb bar, winch, Hayman Reece Towbar, UBP, P3 Tekonsha, 'n stuff.
"When cooking on a camp fire it must be cool enough to cook on so it needs to burn down to coals, at least in parts. It is customary to drink beer while waiting for the fire to cool down.
I recommend starting with a very big fire"-Vince.

One thing they didnt offer which was a bit strange in hindsight as I probably would have had it was an alarm.
Handy with a 4 grand gps system on board.

The Nissan garage coaxed me into an alarm on the Navara.
