I am running ATRs. Good for road, fire trail and sand. I will probably go to a BFG next year because of trips we have planned. Otherwise I would stick with the ATRs.

I fitted Pirelli Scorpion ATR LT tyres in the 265/70R17 size on my 2014 Toyota Prado VX diesel.

Very good tyres and use them on road and off road.

Bought those Pirellis from Kogarah Tyrepower in Sydney (Barry) for $260 per tyre with balancing and fitting. They seem to work with Opposite Lock 4wd store which is almost next door. The only tyre place I could find which really understood what 4wd needs are.

I've seen plenty of positive reviews about the Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres, but have never used them myself. I do have Pirelli Scorpion Verde on the Jeep, and i think they're pretty good. Stick to the road and are really quiet.

Had a set of atr's on my Grand Vitara,

          Great tyre good all round,
good on sand, gravel, and much to my surprise gripped well on slippery rock, ok in mud.
great on the road and wore well, did 40thou on them and they looked only a quarter or so worn.
Read reviews on other sites stating anywhere from 95 to 120 thou out of them

On my second set of ATR Scorpions after getting 75000km out of the first set. Good for everything but mud; great on bitumen, dirt and sand and very good in the wet on bitumen. Not scary in the wet like Dunlop Grandtreks. I don't save mine either: been to Innamincka twice and Birdsville and lots of sand tracks, Moreton Island many times. Great tyre..

I'm a great fan of the ATRs which I have mounted to my std wheels. I have about 10K left on the second set and as you have found they are very quiet and work surprisingly well on the blacktop and most dirt. That said... I also have a set of Cooper ST Maxx 265x70 on a set of Speedy Toyota-look-a-like wheels for the more extreme trips.
Just back from 850K of station tracks in the NW Flinders area, where the coopers really got a work out. The tracks on Mt Freeling and Warraweena were the highlights, in places we rekon we found tracks not driven on in many years.
Now the ST Maxxs are not really noisy, but it will be nice the get the ATRs back on and not have that background tyre noise round town.
