  • Sydney 4WD Show - Cheap BFG KO2s

I went to the Sydney 4WD show today - hot as hell, but otherwise the same as last year.

Except that I had a look at the new BF Goodrich KO2 tyres on what appeared to be a Tyrepower/BFG stand. I was quoted $332 each fitted for the 265/70R/17 AND a $100 cash back (I think you have to buy 4).

That works out at $307 each and that's as cheap as I've seen them.

Excuse my ignorance but will that size fit on the stock GXL rims?

I'm heading out today, hoping to score a deal on a bullbar and Towbar

I got the same deal. Tried talking them down a little lower but $307 was the best they would go. Still the cheapest I have seen and I am happy to pay that price.

One question for you though. The guys at the BFG stand said the KO2's were much heavier than just the BFG KO's although they weren't able to advise by how how much. Does anyone know how much heavier they are?

Retreds, is that price at a particular Tyrepower store or will they do that price locally for you?

Does that include fitting & balancing ?

The guy at the show asked me for my postcode, he then told me my nearest Tyrepower store, so I'd say it was all stores. The price included fitting and balancing.

I can't find anything on the BFG website about tyre weights.

I've got a quote for $430 for KO2 265/65/18. According to the guy that deal is good till end of this month.

I have tried two local tyrepower outlets around Newcastle and they knew nothing about it, one store said they would check with the regional manager but when he rang back said the best they could do was about $360.
I contacted BFG direct through their web site:

"I am interested in a set of 5 KO2 265/70/17 for a Toyota Prado. The BFG/Tyrepower stand at the Sydney 4WD show on the weekend was offering them for $332 fitted plus $100 rebate it you purchase 4 or more tyres. My local tyre dealers have been unable to match this, how am I able to access this special show price? Regards, Kevin"

                  This was their responce:

"Hi Kevin, Thanks for your query, in relation to your query the size 265/70R17 All Terrain KO2 121/118S. RRP is $399.00 + gst per tyre only, this price however, is only a guide as Michelin Australia cannot dictate the price at which authorised BFGoodrich dealers sell our tyres to consumers. You will need to contact your local BFGoodrich Dealer for fitment and a quote. "

Less than helpful. I'm now looking for an alternate, maybe the Cooper ST-Maxx
