As sad as it was my 5 year old 150 has been traded on a 200 series Cruiser.
Put simply the 150 doesn't have enough tow capacity, nor to be honest grunt to tow a heavy van.
I am towing a 2.5 Tonne Van, but can now have the ATM increased to 3 Tonne, those 500 extra KG (not that I plan on using all of that) will make a huge difference in my caravan experience.
Picked up the 200 yesterday afternoon, and must admit whilst sensational to drive, and will be the best fit for my towing needs I am slightly disappointed at a few things in my GXL Prado that are NOT in the GXL Cruiser, the following are missing.
Trip Computer
Rear Park Sensors
Button on steering wheel to answer incoming calls
None are massive biggies but you would think that Toyota would "common rate" the various inclusions across each variant.
The VX (another $10k more and out of my price range as I'm now retired) has leather seats, and the above items (plus a few extras).
Anyway, I'll get over it but its interesting that items considered as basic as these in modern cars are left out.
Not that I'd buy one but my best mate has just bought a Jeep Cherokee Limited, 3.5 Tonne towing capacity, and certainly much higher specced than the cruiser, plus about $15K cheaper, BUT, I do like my off roading and there's no way I'd be seen dead on a serious road in one of them.
I haven't been a huge user of Pradopoint, I was during my set up stage but haven't had the need very much in recent years, so thought I'd pop in to say farewell.......all I have to do now is get the LCool people to answer my registration to start on that forum.
Best wishes all, happy four wheel driving and thanks to anybody who helped me along the way.
