  • Rememberence day, We Will Remember Them

Tomorrow as the nation pauses to remember those who served to ensure we are able to live with the freedom we cherish we will be on the road. Today we paused in Bendigo at the Army Museum to pay our repsects to all those who served in the armed forces throughout the years and tomorrow at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, no matter where we might be We Will Remember Them.

Hoping to be at Amberly Air Base tomorrow for the ceremony, but no matter where I am we will be stopping to remember not only the fallen but also all the returned service personal that help protect our great country. We will remember them

Yes I always stop and reflect, and am always thankful that I haven't had to fight for our country.

For those that have not been, the war memorial in Canberra should be a must visit place for every Australian. An unbelievable place, really makes you stop and think when reading and hearing some of the stories.

              Cheers Andrew

Today we drove through Lake Boga which 2 days ago I don't recall ever having heard about. There is a Catalina Museum there which we dropped into. During WW2 there was apparently over 1000 RAAF personnel there and at times american and Dutch as well. They used to do maintenance and repairs on all sorts of the allies flying boats.
It was a privilege to spent a little time on Remembrance day with a couple of the old guys and learn a little of our history.

Nice. A time will come when there aren't any of the oldies left to tell it like it was. Important we remember the stories I reckon.....

And another 100 000 on top of that from wounds, mental illness etc and the countless lives it has affected. I know that in WW1 we lost 62 000 in the war but another 60 000 were dead with ten years of the war finishing.

Many died within years of the war from the effects of mustard gas and influenzas, their lives cut short due to the sacrifices that they made.
