Prado D4D fault codes

My 2011 Prado D4D has quit on a couple of occasions with engine check light , traction control and 4 LO lights on. It idles really roughly even after restarting, the revs also rise and fall. No response to the throttle either. I have a Chip it installed and tune 5 selected. I removed the chip and harness and connected the standard plugs and tried a restart same result same warning lights. I then removed the battery terminal for a minute or so reconnected and all was good. Reinstalled the Chip it and still all was good. The first occasion was way back of Bourke (scary for the missus). I took the vehicle to Toyota Sutherland when I returned. They said there were no stored error codes stored as i had wiped them with the battery disconnect but to bring it in if it happened again. Well the vehicle would not go and I was concerned about damage, they had no idea what the illuminated dash lights meant. I was glad it was not the Chip it as the performance and economy were much improved. I had hoped Toyota would be able to tell me what sensor failed or parameter was exceeded - no joy there.It happened again south of Helensburgh and again on the M1 near Morisset. Each time I was towing the camper and climbing a slight hill. I thought about excess EGT but the engine was stressed much higher before and after each event without any problem arising also the cruise control was working perfectly. Any one got any ideas??
