Anyone had an ECU reflash.

I see a few companies doing ECU reflashing for performance tuning. I spoke with Roo Systems today regarding this. They can do it for around $1700 with impressive performance gains.

Has anyone else had this done yet.
Any feedback would be grea .

Diesel. Reflash/remap is retuning of factory ECU instead of performance chip.

I spoke to ECU West about this and he said it should cost less than a chip, so your quote seems too high

Good option depending on what they can do. I haven't looked at it for the Prado yet but had it done on a previous car. Very impressed with the results and in particular that I could choose different maps depending on fuel and who was driving. Would be nice if a similar thing can be done with the Prado's ECU.

I had a chip installed into a Ford XR8 ECU, plus dyno tuning to make it all run and that came to around $1,000. So I would say that is on the expensive side if it's only a re-map of the computer.

So it's now possible adjust/remap/tune the vehicles including 1kd-ftv.

Once set up its would be a quick reflash, they would have a few tunes saved.

So rip off scheme at any more than a few hundred bucks.

And realistically, no one ever got "impressive" performance gains without bigger injectors, bigger MAF, bigger turbo, more boots, etc.

Hey guys,
Can you get an ECU Remap and then add some sort of performance chip as well, to get added power etc.?
