My GME antenna base is stuffed [the thread which the antenna attaches to is stuffed]. In its current location on the bull bar it drives the passenger mad with its vibrations. Is there any reason why, when I replace it, it can't be mounted on a Z bracket onto the back mudguard bolt? I know all of the stuff about signal strength/direction , height etc as it is covered elsewhere in here. This is more about getting out of the passenger's line of sight and having the little 30 cm. bit that is always there out of the way.

hey 404,
My mrs hates the same thing. And I cant blame her! I'm thinking of mounting mine behind the spare wheel. But it means making a bracket for it. easy enough just havent got round to it. I think this would be a good high spot and out of the way of tree branches. Maybe something to consider?[B]Cheers Gary[B]

If vibration is the issue you can try putting some heat shrink around the spring. I did and the Mrs has never once complained about it.
