Reads like a paid product placement to me? Or am I being too cynical?

yes, I agree it does read like an ad But what they say about our fuel within the ad is true, we are putting Asian fuel into a European motor.

This has to end up with serious, expensive problems for us Prado drivers here in Oz

It is an advert, isn't it?

If it were a test to expose problems with diesel fuel in Australia solved by addidives, they'd run a vehicle on each possible additive and print the results.

Instead, they amazingly pick just ONE product and then spew out tons of spiel about why this product is sooo good.

This approach makes the product particularly economical. The fill ratio is 10ml for every 80 litres of diesel, which means that a 150ml bottle is enough for 15 standard tank fills. Using it every second tank, one bottle of lubricant will cover 2400 litres of fuel, or about 20,000km. At $34.50 for a 150ml bottle, that’s value for money in anyone’s language.

The bottle is designed to fit into door pockets, so it’s handy when you stop at a fuel station. The long applicator means you don’t need a funnel to apply the additive, and it has a measuring bowl allowing you to apply the correct amount every time.

        Available from:
        Where: Responsive Engineering
        Price: $34.50 per 150ml bottle
        We say: State-of-the-art
        I say: Paid advertorial.

Paid or not, put that aside.... Does our Australian Diesel really need these types of "extra" additives into it to make it suitable for today's modern Diesels ??

I've been using Flashlube Diesel Conditioner for years along with Terrain Tamer filters.
They make similar claims and supplied me with full specs for their filters with test results, this was done to convince a Nissan owner mate he was spending too much on filters.
410,000 Kms in my Troopy on these filters and so far 189,000 in my 150 Prado I wouldn't use anything else, complete filter kit wholesale $51.19.
Normal retail about $78.00, this includes both fuel filters, oil, air and cabin filters sump plug gasket 50ml Flashlube.
Why do I get wholesale/dealer price, I think she just likes me, but still happy to pay full price when served by other staff.

They used 1 test vehicle for a period of 6 months to then post some rubbery outcomes, solid journalism there plus all the facts...Oops sorry there were none in the article. Paid promotion me thinks, reason why i dont buy these mags anymore
