  • Has anyone bought Stedi Lightbars before?

Any 4WD forum reviews seem to be a bit old but they have very good feedback on their web site and ebay (100% feedback score).
They seem to be at the premium end of the cheaper market and have a huge selection of sizes.
I'm interested if anyone's bought the Stedi gear recently and what they thought of it.
2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
Wish list in order I'll get them: Sliders, 2" lift, E-locker, Winch bar with winch.

      Yes and love it.

      http://www.stedi.com.au/120w-cree-le...spot-lamp.html

I have the older version of this with 6 spread and 6 spot but think that the current one with 4 spread and 8 spot would be better not that I am complaining. I have nothing to compare it with and am a happy camper.

Just remember that the prado has negative switching for headlights, had me scratching my head until it dawned on me.

Mate of mine has the double stack on his Prado. Good quality and output, as you said they're the higher end of the cheaper brands.

It was the side (lateral) pin on the drivers side head lamp that I used. So if you could squeeze into the engine bay and looking at the drivers side headlamp it would be the wire coming out nearest to 3 o'clock. Use a multimeter if your not sure. Graft a wire onto this and run it to the negative of your relay. Obviously get the positive feed to the relay straight from battery. This will then switch the relay on when you hit high beam. Stedi provide a relay harness just have to match it to the queer prado wiring.

PS you need to scroll to the end of link provided by mjrandom to find the details

                  I bought a stedi light bar 2 weeks ago. I got the ST2000 (http://www.stedi.com.au/st2000-22-ul...-bar-120w.html).

I had IPF 900 extreme sport lights with 100watt IPF bulbs in it prior... very average.

From what i can tell it looks and feels quality. The light output is great. the way it installs with the brackets, bolts etc... is great. i didnt use the wiring loom but from what i can tell the one supplied looks quality.

In the real world the light quality absolutly craps on my previous IPF lights. the spread out to the side of the car is perfect and it reaches far down the road.

Overall - im more then impressed specially for $189.

I have a 22" ST4000. Very happy with it as the LED's appear to be genuine (Stedi can tell you which LED model number are installed on their light bars if you are interested) rather than the knock off Ebay jobs which state false numbers.

Give Eddie a call at Stedi. Is is very knowlegable and their customer service I have experienced is good.

I would by them again in a heartbeat. You just cannot beat their product for that price point.

I bought a Stedi light ST3300 not long ago. The wiring loom wasn't right for the prado, but the light output was really really good. The quality of the mounting and all that is very good. I really like the light output and that they don't shudder over the corrugations. Service was also very good. I felt more comfortable with buying a higher quality, higher cost unit compared to an untested ebay unit with no service or back up.

I've looked at them all and have decided on the ST3300 due to have 10W leds and 5yr wty vs the 3W leds and 2yr wty for the other models.
It also ticked both boxes of a mixture of spread and distance done well. Not sure if I should get the 24" or 31". I'll have to measure the bar.
Now to convince the wife we "need" it, haha.

The site says now that we have kits wiring kits have been changed.
"ALL NEW QUICK FIT TO HIGH BEAM Wiring Included (Negative Earth Vehicles Only)"
I assume Negative earth and negative switched are different (since I think most vehicles are positive switched?)

Correct. The Prado is negative earth and negative switched just to keep one on ones toes.
