Want to buy a Prado 90

Hi guys

Ive been looking all over the internet at info about the old Prado 90 series, with not much to find.

Finally found this forum. I have the opportunity to buy a 1996-1999 (Can't remember the exact year model - will call the guy Monday) Prado TX Diesel Manual.

The guy selling it has owned it since 2006, and claims no major issues so far, been serviced every 10k kms etc.

Can anyone give me a good heads up on these vehicles, maybe a link to the owners manual even, that can be very helpfull in understanding the vehicle and what to look out for before I buy

Would have to be a 99 or upwards if it was sold here in Aus. if it's any earlier then it's a grey import. The only real issue was cracked heads. Very common and an expensive repair. I've had two 95's one petrol one diesel (my diesel was 2001) dash rattles are common (shitty mount clips) and if severe can come away from the actual fire wall. The steering racks can get a good rattle up as well (just some thing to feel for when negotiating price). Other then that I found to be a good robust vehicle.

Yes took mine up to 220K's and just tyres and batteries a great vehicle bet it's still going now.................

It is a grey import in Botswana. Thanks I will have a look at the above mentioned things, see if I can find any signs.
