    Help! Any suggestions on where I should take my Prado all roads point to needing a new alternator! Is this common???Done 180,000kms
    What's the normally cost to replace and any suggestions where to go?? Perth. Thanks

    Hi Clueless,
    Most auto electrical shops can test it out for you and give you a recommendation , while it's on the car.

      Depending on where you buy - can cost $300 - 1000 for a new alternator, probably $200 - 300 for fitting. It is fairly straight forward to do it yourself if you are handy with the tools. I replaced mine after it started playing up at the 150K mark. It might even been practical to repair your original alternator.
