  • Tyre inflation pressure switch

Can anyone recommend the name and source of a pressure switch that I can set to my tyre pressure to cease re-inflation following 4 wheel driving? I saw a guy a few weeks ago who had a small black device inserted in the hose of his tyre gauge where he could dial up the pressure that he wanted his compressor to stop pumping at. The compressor didn't actually stop but the switch made a popping noise to indicate the pre set pressure had been reached. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the device at the time.

    Cheers David.

    Tyre inflation pressure switch

    Jamec penn in/deflator.
We use them on the racecars and our 4wds.

    You'll pay roughly $320.
We got ours a lot cheaper thru connections.

        Tyre inflation valve

I found what I was looking for on ebay for $35.99. It is called, "12V AIR COMPRESSOR HOSE 7 METER INFLATOR VALVE QUICK CLIP CONNECTOR NPT FITTING". This has the hose and gauge as well, which I already have but it does have the INFLATOR VALVE attached which is what I was looking for. If you google this object then you will see a picture of the small, black valve I was talking about attached to the compressor hose. This is a very useful accessory for re inflating tyres without constantly monitoring the pressure as it warns you when the tyre has reached the pre set pressure.

Anything to save time and energy ")

Looks cheap and dodgy.. no description of what it actually does in the EBAY listing either..?
I think you pull the black plastic bit up near the valve and it deflates the tyre.. Not actually sure how the "pressure" knob is meant to work? Unless it simply blows off to atmosphere when it reaches the set level?

My mate has one and you dial up the pressure that you wish the reinflating tyre to stop inflating to and the valve does the rest. It was a well made of gear as I don't buy crap that I was impressed with. I already knew how it worked and had fiddled with it so I am sure it will do the job I saw it do on the weekend.

I had one of these on a cheap eBay compressor I had. It came with no instructions so I never did figure out how it worked. Unfortunately the compressor itself died (well at least the switch did) but I still have the hose somewhere. I'll see if it will attach to my Thumper and give it a try.

I had one of those on the first (cheapie) compressor I bought. Worked ok for six or so months. To be honest it was rubbish and the relief valve thing leaked and fell apart. Anyway. Good luck.

I am also suspicious of an advertiser that can't spell metre.

I had exactly the same hose as the one I linked and I can tell you now the pressure gauge was also not accurate, always had to rely on a separate gauge to check pressure during inflation.

Hmm interesting experiences so I guess it may be Chinese crap after all. If it lands in the bin I will let you all know lol.

Funnily enough saw exact same thing on a neighbours farm today. Was helping him clean out some sheds with the bobcat 💥
He said it worked twice. Popped off at pressure ok first couple times, The third time he left it running, and went back to the house. Heard the explosion when the tyre let go, seems it didn't pop off and the old trailer tyre blew out at about 110 psi.. 😐
Always a worry if you don't watch it...
Ha. He said I could have it.. It's now on the bonfire pile..
