  • UHF radio newb question

Having recently installed the UHF radio just wondered, now this may be a silly question.
I've seen 2 or 3 cars on my tavels up and down the freeway with Pradopoint stickers and I wondered is there any way to find them on the radio (presuming they have it switched on)
It would be nice to have a chat with some sensible people :? because at the moment all I hear is dickheads swearing and shouting abuse.

Could Pradopoint members have a channel that we all use?
My set has Selcall which is supposed to identify individual radios, although I haven't worked out how to use it yet.

    Any thoughts

Yes I know that problem, I have to turn my UHF off when the kids are in the car with me due to this problem.
Roll on the 2010 Pradopoint GTG

I ended up getting an extension and plugging into the ext spk with an ear piece.

pomp, as you will read in those threads, in Perth we use 16 on trips. Rarely do I have it on for day to day and I suspect the others are the same. If I ever saw a PP stickered prado, I'd start on 16, but would guess no-one would have their ears on.

Sometimes I go to 40 if I'm on a hwy or freeway, including Leach Hwy, just to get a heads up on traffic or cameras, but there is the language...

This happens around every major city  ,

Here in Adelaide they all hang around channel 1. We don't bother turning it on until a few k's out of town.

Found people on the road to very helpful and friendly, the exception being the odd foul mouth truckie.
