Howdy folks. I have a 2014 Prado GXL turbo and intend installing a pair of spots. Once wired I will need to pass switch wiring through firewall to a designated switch. Is there an easy or specific entry point/ss (terminated by grommet perhaps) from the engine bay, through firewall to cab? I have no idea yet where to start looking for such an entry point. Tks Gerundivus.

There are a couple of large grommets on the passenger and driver's side. Each has spare nipples or you can use some TIG wire or a welding rod to puncture the body of the grommet. Take care not to catch existing wiring. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I made a 12 core loom up covered with a couple of layers of heat shrink then split tubing.
Put a 12 pin plug on the engine bay end ready for additional circuits.
Spare wires are tapped up behind the drivers side foot well kick panel.
I only used small gauge wire as it will only be used to switch relays or low current accessories.

The trick to getting the wires through is:1] take off the door kick plate on your chosen side,2] take off the kick plate/1/4 panel by undoing the plastic nut. At this point on either side you can see where the wires go through the firewall. Use a coathanger or similar gauge wire to poke through to the engine bay. Attach your wires to this with tape and pull them back into the car. A little bit of silicon spray on the wire helps it to slide. If you do it from the engine side all of the above still applies. The nipples can be seen from above- just snip one off with sidecutters or similar. As mentioned above be careful not to snag existing wires.
