    Gadget Review - Presso Coffee Machine

    For those who want real coffee....

    A Presso is want you need when camping.

    They are amazing.... retail around $260 but I know a way of getting them for $130. I can give you the clue as to how to get them for the cheaper price.

    Please Embi, I am curious as to the clue.

    At the moment we get by with a stove top coffee maker.

      Hrmmm... an interesting looking contraption to say the least. We too get by with a stove top coffee percolator which seems to do an ok job if you put the right coffee grounds in it. Anything Blue Mountain usually does the job, if you can find them, and if they don't want your leg for them.

      How on Earth does it work?? Do you pour hot water into it or something??

          Pour hot water into the top, then using the handles force the hot water under pressure through the coffee grounds into your cup & viola ~ expresso!

            Another option is the famous "atomic" stove top espresso machine. This is now being manufactured by La Sorrentina and costs around $450. The new models have incredible frothing power! I have not bought one yet but I have been to a demonstration at my local coffee house. These things were designed by Milan in the 1940's and have never gone out of style. Form and function at the very best.

            It is probably too good to take camping actually....but you could cause it just operates off a stove top or naked flame.
