  • Reverse Camera+LCD Mirror Screen Vs Parkassist

    Hi All,

My LC200 doesn't have Reverse Camera or Parkassist  So I want to add a Toyota Reverse Camera+LCD Mirror Screen or Parkassist (Toyota Parking sensors)

I'm not sure which one I should get, or both of them :?:

    Many thanks

Re: Reverse Camera+LCD Mirror Screen Vs Parkassist

    Hi meta,

I installed a reversing camera and mirror LCD in my Prado, and have found the LCD screen (integrated in the miror) to be a pain to view properly. The screen is very difficult to see due to high levels of reflected light, and to boot, vibrated significantly when driving and using it as a mirror. I eventually pulled the mirror/LCD screen apart, and attached the LCD screen to my visor with velco straps, and when reversing, I just fold down the visor at such an angle to offset as much reflection as possible. This allows me to use the original mirror as just that - a mirror. These days, I mainly use the reversing camera to hook up to the van first time every time. If I was to do this again, I would probably look for a separate LCD screen or an integrated LCD audio/video system.

    Cheers
    Greg

        Thanks Greg!

I was told the same thing with Toyota dealer ops: (they must have few very unhappy customers! )

So I'm better to save some $ to get the sensor only

......or go the double din LCD screen in place of the standard Toyota radio / CD combo....... which then open the door to a whole world of new toys as well

What's your budget? for $600-700 you can get some nice double DIN GPS/TV/CD/Reverse camera units... Have a look in the GPS section:
