    Re: diff locker poll

I find these polls most interesting, we should have that on more topics like tyres (coopers/BFG/Mickey tompsons) and UHF (GME/Uniden/Icon) and suspension (OME/?/?) and dual battery info and bulbars arb/tjm/toyota etc.

Rear diff lock here... came earlier than expected due to driver failure ops: ... not that I'm complaining

Will be looking at getting a front locker when funds permit.

Front chosen because of the IFS (means you're more likely to have a front wheel in the air as opposed to a rear wheel).

This might be a while off however... that's what happens on apprenticeship wages with a mortgage I guess!

          diff locker poll

None yet, as no prado yet. But I plan to fit a front air locker as the car had LSD already. My surf that I recently sold came with front and rear air lockers, so I was a little spoilt to begin with.

            Re: diff locker poll

Neither as i can see with my driving style and general attitude if i had a devise that would allow my prado to virtually climb up a brick wall would be a recepie for disaster for both my wallet and my relationship
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

              Re: diff locker poll

I am the fortunate owner of front and rear. I felt it more neccessary to spend the money on both now, (3 months ago) and save my rear diff from excruciating pain than blow a diff or cv, and then replace it, only to then put the locker in. I went down the road of single locker and for the above reason, i spent many dollars and greasy hands changing front diff parts in my old truck. Then of course i decided it would be more economical to get front locker. Only did 1 more CV after the locker but i reckon that was on its way out. I hate the loud pedal in the bush for obvious reasons- breaks too many things.

Yep the biggest advantage of being fully locked i have found is not that you can go more places (even though you can) but that where other people need to use speed to get over obstacles i can often idle over the same spots. much easier on the vehicle which is great especially when a long way from home.

                Cheers Andrew

Front and rear lockers for me, as what has been said before, also I can go further than those poorly constructed Nissan things.
