If you are towing something substantial the 200 TTD is the way to go, 650Nm nothing will go close.
If your only towing a camper trailer or so, the Prado D4D would be a good choice.

I had a 2008 Prado Grande D4D, it was an excellent vehicle, but when I hooked up a 2.1 Tonne van behind it, its ass was hanging out.
Now I have a 2010 200 TTD, and it flys, it is like nothing is on the back.
      Thats 127Kw 410Nm V 195Kw 650Nm No competition !

Re : The Injectors, ALL D4D common rails Need Clean Fuel, if you dont get it they will all be in trouble !

I would disagree with that. It is becoming more evident that the 1VD-FTV is prone to complete failure around the 80-90,000km mark.
Some are using a hell of a lot of oil, the jury is still out as to where the oil is going.
        Have a little read below............

The 1VD-FTV is a lovely motor to drive and make no mistake, it's a real towing powerhouse. I've driven one with a couple of hundred kilos onboard as well as a heavy trailer and the V8 just won't surrender - even on hills. You are quite right to have reservations, because as you say, there is a significant engineering condition which is causing them to use a large amount of oil. The V8 I drove used around 5L of oil over a hard trip and it had about 45,000 km on the clock. I was somewhat shocked to check the dipstick to find it was at the bottom level before its next service was due. If you plan even a moderate trip it would be mandatory to carry spare oil and to check the dipstick every time you fill-up. This is an expensive, inconvenient and potentially damaging drawback to this otherwise impressive motor.
